For the launch of the 208 GTI 30th, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the 205 GTI, Peugeot jsut released this commercial. It's a tribute to the original 205 GTI commercial (see it after the jump)

I'm really rather excited about this car. They've given it some of the suspension gubbins from the RCZ-R, so there's a decent chance it'll be able to dethrone the Fiesta ST as the supermini-class hot hatch of choice for those who are willing to compromise a little comfort for fun.
EDIT: That said, the 205's ad is orders of magnitude better.

Ive always liked those little pudgy-oats. Too bad I live in the US :( . Also the original was way better, real life beats CGI any day.

CGI looks too tacky. A great tribute nevertheless!

Your location isn't a problem, you just need a lot of cash ($10k if you don't want a POS) to own a 205 GTI in the US. Many are older than 25 years old, so old enough to import. Last Saturday I helped an American (stationed in Germany) with buying a 205 GTI, which he'll ship back to the US when he moves back in a few months. I'm expecting an oppo post by him soon.
